What Joanna & Kevin say, April 2026
We looked through countless wedding venues before finding Ballykealey House, and looking back, it’s funny that what first caught my attention was… their dining chairs in their beautiful dining hall. I booked a viewing straight away, and Richael kindly accommodated us even though it wasn’t an wedding viewing day. From the moment we arrived, we felt the warmth and welcoming atmosphere of the place.
Ballykealey House was exactly what we were looking for: relaxed, elegant, and timeless, with beautiful grounds and the fountain as a stunning backdrop. Planning with Richael was effortless. She guided us through every step, asking questions we hadn’t even thought of which made us feel that our wedding is in good hands.
Our wedding day exceeded every expectation. We were lucky to have our welcome reception by the fountain which looked absolutely breathtaking in the spring sunshine. The dining hall with the chairs that first drew me in, was nice and elegant that we barely needed extra decoration. Everything ran seamlessly and the food was exceptional. Our guests couldn’t stop complimenting the food, venue and atmosphere.
A heartfelt thank you to Richael for making the planning process so easy, to the chefs for the exceptional food, to Luke for patiently helping with all our accommodation requests, to Allison and the operations team for ensuring everything ran flawlessly, and to Kate for so kindly holding my veil throughout the welcome reception.
It was such a thoughtful gesture that meant so much. Guests still ask how we found Ballykealey House, and I always find it funny to think that it all started with the dining chairs! We’re so grateful we found this gem and its incredible team. If we could do it all over again, we would choose Ballykealey House without hesitation.
